Lunch Meal
The meal is served from 11:30 to 12:45pm daily.

The lunch meals are varied, nutritional and substantial. Our meal is prepared daily on-site under the trained supervision of the culinary staff. The staff work with volunteers, businesses, church groups, schools and various community groups to prepare, serve and clean up after daily meals.

If you are interested in helping to sponsor, or help with some part of the meal, either as an individual or with a group, please contact our culinary staff for more details.

Six O’clock Soup
Warm Soup is served at 6:00pm daily.

Through the support of our community we are now able to offer 6 O’clock Soup program. This program is designed to give our guests a place to go in the evenings, particularly in the colder weather.

If you are interested in helping to sponsor, or help with some part of the meal, either as an individual or with a group, please contact our culinary staff for more details.

Food Bank

The Food Bank is for anyone in need of emergency food and groceries. Come see our NEW Location, where you are encouraged to shop for the foods you like. No more pre-packaged food packs, the choice is yours. (subject to availability and some restrictions)

  • Our NEW Food Bank schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from 10:00am to 3pm. The Emergency Food Bank and Used Clothing Centre is now located at 875 Ouellette
  • We ask people to bring with them some identification, preferably with an address and some kind of income statement from the previous month.
  • We ask people to bring reusable bags to take home the food items they receive from the Food Bank.

How the Food Room operates
The Food Room operates as a hub for the generous quantities of food and miscellaneous products that come to the DTM through donations. The Food Room itself runs very similarly to a grocery store. Each product is checked and sorted and placed in the correct location. Volunteers are dedicated to keeping the shelves, clean, neat and well stocked. The food products found in the Food Room supply any food related needs of the DTM such as the lunch meal and Food Bank programs.

Diapers and Formula Program
We provide diapers and formula to parents in need. These items are available during Food Bank hours.

FRESH Program

This highly efficient food rescue model brings the much needed resource of refrigerated trucking to be able to safely rescue & deliver fresh, perishable food to supplement shelf-stable food traditionally provided by local food drives. Thanks to the support of generous donors highly nutritious, perishable food—that might otherwise go to waste—is delivered safely, and free of charge to emergency food providers in Windsor Essex County. The individuals and families served are as diverse as the community’s residents – young and old, from all backgrounds and faiths.
